Fancy Lemonade Stand-all the Details

School is right around the corner so ready or not I must prepare.
 My job as an elementary school counselor is honestly my dream job. It's the job I have always wanted and I am extremely blessed to work with the best.
{So bare with me as I really just want to complain and cry that I have to leave my baby}
and juggle all the things working Mommas have to do.

Handsome Mr. Moon was more than happy to complete this project because it was FREE. I used two crates that we had and he nailed them together.
{However the run about $10.00 a piece at craft stores}

Next the boys added some tall pieces that could support the sign at the top.

I just used a piece of plain wood that I found in a junk pile on the farm at the top but purposely painted it with chalkboard paint because my chances of having a little girl are slim to none  I knew that I could use it for different things like Cole's birthday, and puppet shows in my guidance classroom. Honestly I think with the chalkboard paint your ideas are endless.
If I were a classroom teacher I might also use it as a market or classroom store.

I bought the two lemonade signs and cups on mega clearance at Target.

I used the crepe paper tassel tutorial from HERE and just tied them on to some
burlapesqe string that I found in my craft area.

Tomorrow I will be sharing my friend Brittany's tissue paper tassel tutorial here on my blog.

Now go create yourself a...

Favorite Things Party

Today I am linking up with Andrea and Erika for a favorite things party; the best part is all the pretties are under $10 {which Mr. Moon will LOVE} Oh, the finance farmer loves to pinch his pennies.

I'm kind of cheating to start out with but we just visited IKEA for the very first time. It was sooooo overwhelming. My friend Regan and I are already planning our next trip {hopefully the handsome husbands will keep the babies so Mommas can SHOP! Missouri is getting two different Ikea Stores in 2015 but we visited the one in Minneapolis.

We did a little HOHOHO shopping and purchased the famous Ikea Easel at $14.99. Yes, yes I know it isn't under $10 but grab a five out of your husbands wallet and call it good.

The white rolls of paper {as seen in my cart, above} were only $5 can you say good time winter fun?! My best boy is going to be soooo excited. I'm already dreaming of my first *snowday* and school hasn't even started.

Mr. Moon has requested that I complete all the projects around the house that are unfinished first before starting any new ones. I had this blank crate that was $9.99 at Joannes Fabric so after a little stain and monogram it is perfect to house unruly toys and books.

While I worked on my crate these handsome men were finishing my lemonade stand for school. Oh how they love me so. My FIL is one of my favorite people in this whole world; but I don't ever want him to find that out.

I am addicted to the painted pottery place at the lake. Oh my goodness. They have lots of pieces under $10.00 and you leave with the most precious memento. Since I hate sweating but love to sparkle and summer is in full force I love any air conditioned activities for C and I. So regardless if you are local or not go find a pottery painting class.

My last under piece are the crepe paper tassels. Oh my goodness how I love them and they are sooo easy. You can get two rolls for $1.00 and tassel away. These will go on my fancy fabulous lemonade stand for our open house night at school.

Thanks for visiting! Have a fancy day.

Our Fancy Visit to West End Architectural Salvage

Mr. Moon and I loaded up the baby and headed north to visit his sister in Minneapolis. We stopped half way in Des Moines Iowa {one of the cleanest cities I've ever been to} and stayed the night. The next morning we went to West End Salvage {as seen on HGTV} for some good junking. I will be really honest and say that I haven't watched the show but my Mom is a HUGE fan!

The building was super cool and these were some of the funky treasures in the back parking lot.

I know it's strange for someone my age to LOVE old pieces and funky junk but oh how I do.

Loved the exposed brick too.

I really liked this table and the bones that it possessed. Super cute! However for the price I would definitely have to recreate it.

Mr. Moon loved this old sign.

And I LOVED this old moon magnet.

A church pew is on my wishy wish list at the moment. However until we build I'm not buying anymore pieces unless I find it for a steal. My mom has a BEAUTIFUL church pew...so litterally I just might steal it one day.

I'm a lover of old windows and thought these were super cute!!! How cute would a monogram be on one in a baby room.

Loved that there was lots of old pink chippy furniture. I don't think Jason would EVER go for pink funky furniture but a girl can dream.

Jase really liked these industrial chairs.

The letters were very cool. You all know I love a good monogram and personalized pieces.

LOVE their motto...so true!

I consider myself a *fancy junker* with fabulous taste and they did impress my need for one of a kind pieces however I was not impressed with their prices. Wowzers! I'm pretty sure with the junk on our farm we could pay off our farm debt and buy a couple vacation homes if I sold things we have at their prices but the experience was fun.

I think the thing that made me most sad was I was that we weren't greeted or welcomed when we came in; that's a huge let down to me. I'm sure they are very busy but a simple extension of a hello would have been kind. We came around the time it opened and I will say it was so nice to shop when it wasn't busy.

Fancy Friday Favorites

Well happy Friday sweet friends. The best thing about summer vacation is every .S.I.N.G.L.E. day is a Friday.

I thought Fancy Friday Favorites would be a fun idea for me to wrap up my favorites for the current week. So without further excitement here are my fancy favorites.

This plate makes me HAPPY! Cole and I went to a pottery painting place and my sweet boy painted this little masterpiece. I will treasure it always! I'm in LOVE. Defenitely hoping to take him back again or maybe Mr. Moon would like to and Cole could paint a mason jar for me. {hint hint, honey}

I found these two pretties at GAP. This completely sums up my personal style classic with a little *tacky fabulous*. I love me some pom poms!!!

This tractor swing has my sweet boy enjoying the summer shade. I will admit that he decided to try it buckn' bull style with one arm and completely crashed. Agh! I wish Mr. Moon was part ER doctor.  Raising an active little boy stresses this Momma OUT.

Cole completed his 2nd week of swim lessons. I know people think I'm crazy when they find out that I enrolled C in two different swim classes but swimming is so important to me. We love going to the beach, pool, and lake and I want him to be aware of water safety and know different techniques. His progress this summer is amazing. I'm so thankful and proud of his hardwork {even if he's going down the slide backwards while the rest of the class was going on a scavenger hunt together in the water}.

Swim lessons STESSED me out big time this week. Cole refused to join the group and wanted to do his own thing. Thankfully there were some teen helpers that assisted and it was so wonderful. On the last day after being stressed and upset that Cole wasn't following directions like the rest of the kids I decided to be thankful that he was more of an explorer type; rather than a listener. Raising Cole has truly taught me so much and I really think I'm a better school teacher because of him. GRACE parenting is HARD work but I'm praying it works for us.

Have a happy Friday and safe weekend.

Summer Fun Recipe

We have been busy this week enjoying summer to the fullest potential. Lots of swimming, napping, and playing. Oh how I LOVE summer!!!

Yesterday was HOT and I always feel sorry for the boys when they have to work out in it; especially when we come home exhausted from the pool so yesterday we decided to make our favorite boys some yummy dessert cake which C calls dump truck cake.

My sister in law made this and gave me the recipe but I adapted it due to my errors and it still turned out GREAT!!! You can also put this in a flower pot and make it pretty but at our house the boys rule so dump truck cake it is!

Ingredients:

1/2 cup butter, softened
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 cup confectioners's sugar
2 (3.5 ounce) packages instant vanilla pudding mix {I used vanilla and cookies and cream pudding}
3 1/2 cups of milk
1 (12 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
32 ounces chocolate sandwich cookies with creme filling {fancy way of saying DOUBLE STUFFED OREOS}
1 package of gummy worms {which I do NOT like, but the princess of our castle is out numbered again}

Directions:

Chop cookies very fine in food processor. The white cream will disappear. {I used my blender and did a rough chop}

Mix butter, cream cheese, and sugar in a bowl.

In a large bowl mix milk, pudding, and whipped topping together.

Combine pudding mixture and cream mixture together.

Layer in flower pot, or dump truck {or whatever you fancy that is clean}start with cookies then cream mixture. Repeat layers. I put the gummy worms close to the top so I could see them enough to avoid them; but you can place them wherever you would like.

Chill until ready to serve.

We took a cake to my brother when he got home from work. I miss this sweet boy so much. And yes, Cole went to town in his underwear. Oh the things I said I would never do.

I also LOVE how these boys light up when they see each other. Love them tooooo pieces!!!

Enjoy fancy friends!!!

Beach Portraits

This year on our annual trip to Destin we had professional photos taken for the first time on the beach; the results were amazing. I am so picky when it comes to photography and Tiffany came highly recommended by another blogging friend Ms. Cherish. {who I absolutely adore to pieces}

I wanted them to be pretty classic and timeless and I absolutely LOVE the way they turned out.

I love that the focus point is always on Cole.

My love for this wild, strong willed, yet sensitive boy is out of this world.

Goodness I love him so. LOVE those sweet freckles too.

If you are in the Destin/30A area I highly recommend Tiffany with Avant Images.

As much as I love the beauty of our farm the 30A area is a close second.

A Fancy Week

My best boy and I have had a busy, busy week!!!

We entered his fair projects.

Went to a tractor pool to support Papa!

{ I think Garth Brooks should make a new song called Blame it All on our Roots we showed up with Louis Vuitton and dedicate it to me and my friend Mallory.}

Papa making big smoke! Cole looks at this picture constantly.

I have been working in Cole's room lots and set up this little barn area. He is loving it which makes my Momma heart HAPPY!!!

Oh these two love birds...

Jason and I had a MUCH needed date night so we got all fancied up and headed to dinner and a movie. These two cuties {my MIL and FIL} missed us so much they decided to stop in and see us.

While Mommy and Daddy were enjoying alone time Cole got to go on a fishing trip with my family.

He was in heaven!!! I'm so thankful for a wonderful family that includes Cole on their adventures.

Saturday I worked on some projects, took time to journal and focus on some future endeavors that I'm really EXCITED about. I also forgot how quiet my life was before Cole and enjoyed a bubble bath ALONE. (It's the little things that excited me) I tried the BLUE toe nail polish trend and decided it is NOT for me but I think it's soooo cute on other people. If you're interested the color is called Butter Please by Essie with an OPI mermaid glitter.

Hope you had a fancy fabulous weekend!!!

Fancy Lemonade

Cole and I are visiting family for a couple days and are truly enjoying the only plus subdivision life has that we don't out on the farm...traffic! I LOVED lemonade stands as a little girl and I hope my sweet boy will share those same fond memories  even if we have to call customers to our home . ; )

We have been working on little JOY projects together this summer so we decided to continue our theme on our mini trip so our lemonade was free to anyone who was thirsty.

This my friends is what summer vacation is all about. Let me be really honest and share that I already cry at the thought of leaving my best boy in August! So savoring each second; I will!

Happy Weekend!

Appliqué Shirt Under $10

It's no secret that I LOVE classic children's clothing but unfortunately they aren't always in line with our budget. I LOVE appliquéd shirts and prefer Cole to wear them. I also love that they can be personalized as well.

I was in a real pickle beause Cole and I are headed to the zoo soon and he didn't have any zoo themed clothing {don't judge} and I knew it was too late to call on my amazing friend Ashley who always creates the most precious clothes for my best boy; so I looked on etsy and found the cutest appliqué iron ons. The best part $3.99 free shipping! I knew I could get a plain teeshirt from WalMart and viola I would have a precious piece for under $10.00. {I believe the shirt at WalMart was $3.55}

I am extremely pleased with the way it turned out! I did follow the Etsy sellers suggestions and hand stitched around the edge for a longer lasting hold.

I ordered some other designs that I thought Cole would enjoy; and can't wait to get started on them as well.
